Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) operates a certification program for products produced through responsible aquaculture that takes into consideration the environment, local communities and people.
ASC has grown through the participation of aquaculture producers, and there are approximately 2,300 ASC certified farms worldwide. The number of CoC certified companies has also increased to about 3,200. The range of ASC certified products has expanded, with over 30,000 different items now available. The Global Seafood Alliance is an international, nonprofit trade association dedicated to advancing responsible seafood practices through education, advocacy and third-party assurances.
Through the development of its Best Aquaculture Practices and Best Seafood Practices certification programs, GSA has become the leading provider of assurances for wild and farmed seafood globally.
