IUU Forum Japan
Introduction of organizations / PR message to visitors
IUU Forum Japan is a Japanese consortium that works on measures against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
IUU fishing imposes a huge threat to global seafood sustainability. Its scale in terms of monetary value of catch is estimated to be equivalent to the total annual production value of Japanese fisheries. Furthermore, unreasonably cheap seafood sourced by IUU fishing creates unfair competition for fisheries operators who play by the rules.

Fisherman Japan Marketing Co.,Ltd.
Introduction of organizations / PR message to visitors
We’re Fisherman Japan Marketing, a company started by local fishers and wholesalers in Miyagi after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Since then, we’ve been working to reshape Japan’s fishing industry from Sanriku into something cooler, more profitable, and more innovative — what we call the “New 3K” values.
These days, we’re teaming up with passionate fishers across Japan to promote ocean conservation, fight IUU (illegal, unreported, and unregulated) fishing, and support sustainable resource management. Our work includes spreading the word about sustainable seafood, expanding its distribution, impact investing through our FJ Blue Fund, and even making policy recommendations to the government.
At our TSSS booth, we’ll be showing off a range of domestically sourced sustainable seafood, including MSC and ASC certified products. We warmly invite you to stop by.
