Privacy Policy

Scope of application

This privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”) describes how we,Seafood Legacy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Seafood Legacy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”),handles personal information of our customers (including users of our services, our business partners and other third parties; the same applies hereinafter) we collect in providing services we offer (hereinafter referred to as “our services”) or in operating our businesses

If an individual privacy policy or rule has been established or consent has been given individually for each of our services (such individual rule and consent are hereinafter collectively referred to as “individual consent”), the terms of such individual consent will apply.

  1. Personal information

    “Personal information” as used in this Privacy Policy means information relating to a living individual consisting of a name, address, telephone number, email address, place of work, date of birth, or other descriptions whereby a specific individual can be identified. Even if a specific individual cannot be identified by the information alone, any information which can be readily collated with other information and thereby identify a specific individual and information which is defined as personal information under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information is also included in personal information.

  2. Action history information

    “Action history information” as used in this Privacy Policy means information which, through its accumulation, can be used to analyze customer interests and preferences but is not sufficient to identify a specific individual, including a history of services used, a history of software and advertisement viewed, products purchased, search key words used, a date used, usage environment, a history of operations on a site, an IP address, location information, unique terminal identifier, communication status of a mobile terminal when a mobile terminal is used for our services and information concerning various configuration during the use of our services by our customers.

Handling of personal information

  1. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information for your personal information we collect, and are committed to ensure that our internal system for the protection of personal information is always in place and constantly improved. Provision to third parties

  1. We will not provide any third party with your personal information, without your prior consent expressly given through terms of use for the services you use, or unless required by law, or we outsources the handling of personal information within the scope necessary for the achievement of the purpose of use, or otherwise permitted by law.
  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, we may provide your personal information we collect to third parties including our affiliates in order to disclose or provide data containing personal information after processing the data to a form in which a specific individual cannot be identified.
  3. If we provide a third party with your personal information in accordance with the preceding two paragraphs, your personal information will become under the control of the third party from the time the information is provided. Both we and the third party handle your personal information in compliance with its own policy on the protection of personal information, and neither party assumes any responsibility as to the handling of your personal information by the other party.

Outsourcing of handling of personal information]

We may outsource any of our operations in which personal information is handled in whole or in part. In this case, we require the party to which the operation is outsourced to handle personal information in an appropriate manner to ensure the secure management of outsourced personal information, and provide necessary and appropriate supervision including regularly checking the status of their handling.

Procedures for the disclosure of personal information

The procedures for the disclosure of personal information are as described below

  1. Where to submit a request for disclosure

    Please contact the above Inquiry Desk to request disclosure. We will mail you a form specified by us after we receive your request for disclosure.

  2. How to make a request for disclosure

    Please fill out all the required sections in the form specified by us, and return it to the Inquiry Desk. When you mail the form, please write “Request for disclosure of personal information enclosed.” Please note that we will not be able to process your request if the request form and other documents are not complete or we cannot communicate with you

    1. When the person to whom personal information relates is requesting disclosure

      Please enclose a copy of one of the following documents to verify your identity. Pleasedo not state your identification number, or delete or black out your identification number on any document you are sending.

    2. When an agent of the person to whom personal information relates is requesting disclosure
      Please enclose the identification documents for the agent (any of the documents under (1) above) and the power of attorney, in addition to the identification documents of the person to whom personal information relates.
  3. Response to the request for disclosure

    We verify the contents after receiving a request for disclosure, and we will try to send you our response within one month of the receipt of the request. However, please be advised that our response may be delayed under certain circumstances.
    We will notify you if we are unable to accept your request including the following cases. However, we may not be able to provide you with the reason therefor under certain circumstances.

    1. When we are unable to verify your identity
    2. When we are unable to verify the power of attorney, when the request is made by an agent
    3. When documents submitted are not complete
    4. When the information requested to be disclosed is not “personal information to be disclosed”
    5. When doing so will harm life, body, property or other rights and interests of the person to whom personal information relates or a third party
    6. When doing so is likely to bring about obstacles to our business
    7. When doing so is likely to violate laws and regulations
  4. Fees

    You will be required to pay a fee for disclosure as specified by us. We will notify you of such fee when we mail you a specified form after we receive your request for disclosure.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy at any time whenever necessary to comply with laws and regulations of Japan applicable to personal information we hold, to continuously review measures we take to protect personal information, and to make efforts to improve and enhance this Privacy Policy. We will announce any changes to this Privacy Policy on our website.
